Pringles, the formed potato chip line from Procter & Gamble, is taking advantage of the shape of its trademark canister to promote a new ketchup flavor as part of Walmart’s American Summer line. The graphics consist of a stylized ketchup bottle that runs the height of the canister whose “label” depicts a chip deploying a tiny ketchup squeeze bottle with two tomatoes at a picnic table in the background. Exclusive to Walmart, the composite (paperboard/metal base) canister retails for $2. The product was rolled out in early summer and bears the message “Limited time only at this store” on its cap.
