Premium spirits use distinctive squat bottles.

Distinctive squat glass bottles are being used for a line of spirits from Tuthilltown Spirits, Gardiner, N.Y.

Hudson River Spirits, including bourbon, rum and rye, come in 375- and 750-milliliter heavyweight flint glass bottles from O.Berk Co. The bottles have larger-than-average apertures and specially designed finishes for easy opening. The 21-millimeter “bar-top” closures have cork accents and are sealed with wax color-coded to different products.

To accent the high-end nature, each label has the year the whiskey was produced, as well as batch and bottle numbers.
