Coca-Cola is returning to glass bottles yet again, this time in reclosable 12-ounce bottles.

The glass bottles, from Vitro Packaging, have plastic closures and come in a paperboard six-pack carrier with retro graphics. The bottles, which are a slightly squatter variation on the classic “Mae West” shape, feature narrow wraparound labels.

Coca-Cola said in a statement that the glass bottles will allow the company to pursue its goal of recycling and/or recovery of 90% of the output from its production facilities by the year 2010.
