Totani America debuted at Pack Expo 2009 a new feature on the CT60D Stand-Up Pouch machine. Existing and entry-level convertors can have additional capability of Quad Seal with this new unwind and forming section. The "CT60D+Q" is similar to its predecessor
with three-side seal and stand-up pouch capabilities. The new, powered unwind unit has more film width capacity of 1600mm, and gusset web hole punching is done in continuous motion, allowing for greater accuracy at high speed.

Product weight vs. calories presents packaging dilemma

We recently posted a news item in our Breaking News section, "Food packages: Actual calories exceed labeled values," that I felt-like a controversial football call-was worthy of further review. The study, reported in the January 2010 issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association , found that the measured calorie values of 10 frozen meals purchased from supermarkets averaged 8% more calories than stated on the label. more
