Malt-O-Meal creates new cereal line

Sally’s brand marks Malt-O-Meal's entry into Canada.

The Malt-O-Meal Company has added a new line to its growing portfolio of family friendly cereals with the introduction of Sally's brand cereal, the first Malt-O-Meal brand available in Canada.

Consumers can now make a greener choice in the store without paying a price premium. By packaging Sally's cereal in resealable bags and eliminating the exterior box (versus a traditional cereal that is packaged in a bag within a box), Sally's cereal bags leave far less consumer packaging to recycle or dispose of than comparably-sized bag-in-box cereals. Malt-O-Meal also purchases wind energy credits to offset 100% of the electricity used in the manufacturing of Sally's cereals.

To further reduce its packaging waste, Malt-O-Meal has partnered with TerraCycle® Canada, an international upcycling company that takes packaging materials that can't be recycled and repurposes that material into new, high quality goods. Through this partnership with TerraCycle, consumers can collect empty Sally's cereal bags and return them to TerraCycle for upcycling.

"Malt-O-Meal is committed to producing Sally's cereal in a way that minimizes environmental impact and sustains natural resources for the future," says Fisher. "Through our partnership with TerraCycle, we're taking one more step to reduce packaging waste by creating a second life for used Sally's cereal bags."

The cereal comes in nine flavors and is available at Walmart. The cereal retails for $3.00 Canadian.
