GrowthJames P. Navin, President of Spee-Dee Packaging Machinery, Inc. recently announced a 10,000 square foot expansion of the company’s corporate headquarters.  “The significant sales growth Spee-Dee has experienced within the last several years necessitated the inclusion of the additional production space, as well as new investment in manufacturing equipment and an increase in the company’s workforce,” he says.

According to Business Development executive David Navin, the company continues to witness accelerated sales across all equipment lines.  “To remain competitive, food manufacturers in particular have been progressive in integrating new resources to support improvements to their packaging and product offerings.  Additionally, as the economy continues to recover, corporations are replacing outdated equipment to maximize the overall efficiency and productivity of their operations.  Spee-Dee’s sizeable ongoing investments in research and development enable us to provide our customers with technologically superior packaging solutions that improve fill speed and accuracy while slashing the downtime associated with maintenance and expense,” he explains.

The new space, which will be fully occupied by late June 2011, will be primarily utilized for final system assembly and pre-shipment inspection.  Spee-Dee has recently augmented its production resources through the installation of additional CNC equipment that enables internal manufacture of larger parts that were previously outsourced.  The company also continues to recruit additional employees in the areas of assembly, engineering and service.
