EXPO PACK México 2012 is on the way
to becoming one of the largest editions ever of this premiere Latin American
trade show. Show owner and producer PMMI says the show will welcome more than
900 exhibitors in over 17,400 net square meters (187,000 net square feet) of
exhibit space.
Jose Martinez, director of the
Mexico office of PMMI, which also owns and produces PACK EXPO International
2012, adds that the many international pavilions at EXPO PACK México 2012 are
showing strong sales as well as the industry specific pavilion areas.
“Since space sales opened, PMMI has had to
expand the show floor to accommodate demands for exhibit space. Overall, we’ve
seen a 7 percent increase in booth space sales. More specifically, The PROCESA
Pavilion alone has more than doubled in size; The Containers and Materials
Pavilion shows a 23 percent space increase, and the Pharmaceutical Pavilion and
the PMMI Pavilion have each grown 6 percent to date,” Martinez says.
The more than 900 exhibitors will
represent 26 countries and the entire processing and packaging supply chain,
Martinez notes, adding that PMMI expects at least 25,000 attendees.
The PROCESA Pavilion at this year’s
edition of EXPO PACK México has doubled in size to
more than 2,000 net square meters (21,500 net square feet), giving attendees
and suppliers greater resources for proactively addressing trends and changes
in the processed food marketplace in Mexico and Latin America.
The PROCESA Pavilion’s exhibitors
are dedicated to processing in the fruit and vegetable, beverage, dairy, meat,
poultry, seafood, frozen and preserved foods industries. Martinez adds, “During
EXPO PACK México 2011, 32 percent of the buyers attending were researching food
processing solutions and, and they benefited greatly from the PROCESA
Pavilion’s concentration on their area of interest.”
This concentration of processing
technologies gives industry professionals the chance to efficiently find
solutions and address current trends in the Mexican marketplace, Martinez
notes.
“The Mexican market for processed foods is
changing dramatically,” he says. “Mexicans are changing their eating habits,
their buying habits and their food choices.”
