Beverage packaging equipment supplier Sidel (www.sidel.com) has a new president and chief executive officer, Mart Tiismann. He succeeds Gérard Stricher, who is retiring after working alongside Tiismann for more than two years. Tiismann was previously the company’s executive vice president in charge of industrial operations and product research and development.

Spartech Corp. (www.spartech.com), a producer of plastics materials and packaging, has appointed Myles Odaniell president and chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors. Odaniell succeeds Randy Martin, interim chief executive officer, who will return to his duties as chief financial officer. The company also elected Ralph Andy, a director of the company for the past nine years, as chairman of the board.

Jennifer Woods, a former employee in new business development with Kroger and other retailers, has joined the packaging design firm Design North as an account strategist.

Citing high raw material and energy costs, Caraustar (www.caraustar.com) is raising prices for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard by $40 per ton (effective Jan. 28) and for all paperboard-based converted products by 8% (effective Feb. 18).

KHL Engineered Packaging Solutions (www.khlengpkg.com) is now the North American representative of Aranow Packaging Machinery’s stick packaging equipment.

Bosch Packaging Technology (www.bosch.com) has opened a new manufacturing facility in Goa, India, to produce and assemble packaging equipment for a variety of markets, including candy, cookies (biscuits) and other solid foods.
