Canned goods campaign hopes to get consumers cooking with cans

Cans Get You Cooking is a national, integrated multi-year campaign which will be launched by the Can Manufacturers Institute. The Cans Get You Cookingcampaign is uniquely designed to increase usage over time—not just getting cans into the pantry, but out of the pantry and onto the table. It includes a partnership with ABC’s The CHEW and will involve social media initiatives, national events and retail promotion support periods. Major brands and national retailers will be playing an active role in Cans Get You Cooking, which is based on the insights of a new comprehensive, values-based consumer research study revealing consumers’ strong positive associations with canned food, and will work to increase awareness of the benefits of cooking with cans.

According to the Cans Get You Cooking website, a recently conducted study provided insights on consumers’ positive associations with canned food showing that the majority of consumers count on cans to create meals for their families and friends.

The Campaign communicates the positive attributes of the canning technology which seals in freshness and nutrients, helps cut meal preparation time without sacrificing quality, and provides convenience when creating satisfying meals, all of which will inspire consumer confidence to cook with cans.
