11/26/13 to 11/28/13
Kenyatta International Conference Centre
The first staging of Food Processing & Packaging Exposyum (FPPE) to be held from November 26 - 28, 2013 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, will be organized by StarlingExpo in cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf. It will be the first "member" of the international "packaging family" of interpack (leading international trade fair for the packaging sector and related processing industries held every three years in Düsseldorf, Germany) to take place in Africa. The Advisory Board of interpack recommended this commitment in Africa.
The Food Processing & Packaging Exposyum especially targets machinery, equipment and process suppliers as well as food producers and processors representing the complete process chain from the initial process steps such as filling and packaging to logistics. BOSCH Packaging Technology, Multivac and Fawema are three market leaders who have already confirmed their participation.
As part of the conference program, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the partner of Messe Düsseldorf in the SAVE FOOD Initiative, together with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) will present their results of an on-going study on the extent of and reasons for losses of corn, fish, bananas and dairy products in Kenya. This will give companies in the process and packaging technology sector advice about reducing the problem of these food losses through their products and corresponding know-how while developing promising sales markets at the same time.
Every evening after the Exposym, participants can meet for networking in the exhibition lounge. Representatives of private and government agencies are also available for relevant information talks during the day. Following the 3-day Exposyum, visits of local companies are offered.
Nairobi is the leading communication and business center in Kenya. With a population of 3 million, the city is also home to numerous international organizations. Kenya is considered one of Africa's most promising markets. As the business hub of this region and posting 5% to 7% growth annually, this market is already developing very dynamically now.
The Food Processing & Packaging Exposyum is the tenth member in Messe Düsseldorf's international program of packaging trade fairs, which now comprises events on five continents - all of them of major significance for their respective regional markets. These events complement interpack as the international No. 1 trade show of this alliance.
