PMMI announced that nominations are open for the Packaging Hall of Fame™ Class of 2011. The annual honor will be presented at a reception during PACK EXPO Las Vegas on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Las Vegas Hilton.

“The Packaging Hall of Fame honors packaging’s greatest innovators, and induction is a true mark of distinction for the industry’s greatest leaders,” says Maria Ferrante, vice president, Education & Workforce Development, PMMI. “Being inducted into the Packaging Hall of Fame recognizes a lifetime of work.”

Inductees Advance the Field with Leadership, Education and Science

Nominations are due to Ferrante no later than June 30, 2011. Submit nominations of up to 1,500 words by e-mail atmferrante@pmmi.org or by usingPMMI’s online nomination page.
Submissions should clearly describe how the candidate has:
  • Personally advanced the science, technology and practice of packaging (Cite scientific inquiries, technologies advanced, patents received, etc.)
  • Expanded packaging knowledge and the understanding of packaging (Cite significant roles played in packaging education, research, market analyses, published works, etc.)
  • Been a remarkable volunteer leader in the packaging community (Cite leadership roles played in packaging associations/organizations and the groups’ accomplishments during the nominee’s tenure.)
Please include a recent color headshot  of the nominee as a .jpg, .eps or .tif file.
Inductees will be selected by a commission of their peers in the packaging industry. To be announced at a later date. Nominations will be accepted through June 30, 2011. Any industry professional may nominate a candidate, and candidates may be nominated posthumously.

The Packaging Hall of Fame recognizes career packaging professionals for their significant contributions to the industry and packaging education. The honor, which PMMI coordinates, has been awarded annually since 1971.
