The Coca-Cola Co. is unveiling a smaller version of its standard aluminum beverage can.

The 7.5-ounce mini can is being touted as an aid to portion-control, since it holds only 90 calories’ worth of Coke. It also is suitable for “smaller thirst occasions,” in the words of a Coca-Cola spokesperson.

The mini can was due to be introduced in Washington, D.C., and New York City in December, with rollout across the rest of the country scheduled in the spring. The introduction coincides with Coca-Cola’s initiative to put calories and other nutritional information on the front of its packaging.
