AriZona Beverage Co. has come out with a line of fortified water in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles designed to stand up to hot filling. AriZona Rescue Water, a line in four flavors with various added nutrients, is filled in 20.5-ounce bottles fromConstar. The bottles use Constar’s X4 technology, which allows the vacuum expansion and contraction caused by hot-filling to occur at the bottle’s base, obviating the need for sidewall panels. The bottles also feature Constar’s DiamondClear oxygen scavenger, which is distributed throughout the monolayer material.
